| Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio is a little known gem of scenic beauty in the midwestern US. It's an area that encompasses many separate scenic areas that stretches for many miles in southeastern Ohio. These areas contain gorges, cliffs, rock overhangs, caves, and waterfalls and many, many miles of hiking trails. The gorges here consist of sandstone walls that have become highly eroded over the millenia to form caves, deep recesses, and rock overhangs. Popular hiking destinations here include the "Rock House" - an interesting and easily accessible cave, "Rock Bridge" - a long stone arch, Old Man's Cave - a deep semi-dark recess, Fat Woman's Squeeze - a narrow long cleft through rock, and many, many attractive waterfalls. |
