this is a photo of the carnivorous Pitcher Plant. The Pitcher Plant grows in soil low in nutrients
and compensates by trapping and ingesting the nutrients from decomposing insects.

This photo of a pitcher plant was taken on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, Canada. Whether it's seen as phallic or yani, the pitcher plant is certainly carniverous. The insects and occasional small frogs that are lured inside become trapped, and ultimately become food for the plant.
