Next Photo - Death Valley
this photo of the Mysterious Rocks of Death Valley National Park shows the trails left behind from

the movement of these rocks along the cracked dry earth of the Playa, a dry lake bed known as the Racetrack.

Movement of these rocks has never been witnessed and is thought to occur with high winds after extremely rare rainfall.

This photo shows the mysterious moving rocks of Death Valley. The trails behind these rocks show the history of their movement. And yet, no one has ever seen them move. The pattern of the cracked earth in these trails differs from the surrounding ground, suggesting they have moved when the ground was wet. Is it possible the blowing wind can move these rocks? This is the explanation offered.

These mysterious moving rocks can be found in Death Valley, in a place commonly known as the Playa racetrack, a nearly perfectly flat, dried lakebed that can only be reached after driving about thirty miles on a road recommended for 4-wheel drive vehicles only.
